Who we are
Tohetaka was born from my desire to connect with my Māori roots while raising my three children far from our ancestral home of Aotea (Great Barrier Island, New Zealand). Seeking safer, natural alternatives for my family, I began creating skincare that honors indigenous wisdom in our modern world.
Tohetaka means "dandelion" in Te Reo Māori. Like this humble, resilient flower, our brand is dedicated to harnessing nature's overlooked treasures. Every product is lovingly handcrafted in small batches using sustainable packaging—honoring the land (whenua) and your skin.
Whole Skin Food
Tohetaka delivers whole, nutrient-dense food directly to your skin. We believe that just as whole foods are better for your body than processed ones, the same applies to your skin—your body’s largest organ.
While most commercial skincare is diluted with water and packed with synthetic stabilizers to prolong shelf life, Tohetaka is handcrafted in small batches using 100% whole ingredients. That means ZERO fillers, emulsifiers, or chemicals. Just pure, nutritious skin food.
Our minimalist suite is formulated with Earth-made ingredients to protect, purify, and moisturize. We use meadowfoam and hemp to lock in moisture without clogging pores, manuka honey and rosehips for protection, and kawakawa and copaiba to soothe and heal.
